Afterword to The Outsider

I would be very grateful if someone with access to The Penguin Modern Classics translation of The Outsider could check if this quotation is correct:

Lying is not only saying what isn’t true. It is also, in fact especially, saying more than one feels. We all do it, everyday, to make life simpler

It is from the Afterword, written by Camus, and I think from memory it is right, though I might be wrong.

If anyone has access to any other versions of this quote, it would also be much appreciated!
